BEETLE CLEANED , DEGREASED, and WHITENED WOLF SKULL

Description

A very large Alpha male wolf that when taken appeared to have been shot by a small bore  handgun, but upon closer examination was found to have had the side of his head kicked in - probably by a moose or an elk. A lot of swelling and  a rather serious looking injury outright. When I skinned him, lo and behold  I dicovered his mandible had been broken and his entire neck was dislocated, but the old boy was in good flesh; One would assume his pack mates were providing the grits, but eatin might have been a bit of a problem with a broken jaw. The fellow who did the cleaning said he never saw the broken piece - yeah , well it was attached to the skull when it left Idaho, but what is one to do. A very nice and unusual piece of history, although fortunately the rest of him was complete- Maybe that kick was enough for one day.  Fish and game dated him to be about a five year old. Has  a very good set of upper and lower canines and the only tooth missing is the one removed by fand g officials and was a premolar.
