    Description

    GIANT Common Snapping Turtle Shell 13" x13.75 Taxidermy Bones Hunting w Plastron. Heres a Common Snapping Turtle shell with the plastron and some internal bones/ hips still present as pictured. A great piece for showing students that turtles cant literally jump in and out of their shells. This piece is in the state that i purchased it from the estate in. I haven't done any cleaning or polishing to the shell inside or out as pictured. It appears the tail bone was sawed just at the back end. The remaining bones inside are solid and affixed in place. There is some natural damage to the shell where it probably got hit at some point in its life and healed over...an additional aide for teaching that turtles have the capability of healing from tough injuries. I believe this piece will clean up decently if desired. A nice addition to your amphibian taxidermy collection, for native artwork pieces,and great use as a teachers aide!
