Real Bone Skull MALE FLAT HEADED KUSIMANSE Mongoose Mammal Animal Taxidermy

Description

This is a real bone skull of an FLAT HEADED KUSIMANSE Mongoose (Crossarchus platycephalus).  The skull was beetle cleaned, and whitened and degreased with strong peroxide.  This skull is complete with lower jaw, and it has been glued to the cranium. There is no damage that I can see and it has all its teeth. The complete dentition and quality of this skull make it a very nice example of the species and gender.  The only flaw is some dark material around teeth where it was glued. Not sure what that is all about, but it does not impact the quality of the skull.  Please be aware there may be other flaws or imperfections that I cannot see as this was a living thing, and living things rarely show perfection in death.  The skull displays well and is quite sturdy making it a good hands on model, for education, or for collections.  The skull measures almost 3 inches long, this is a MALE young adult animal--you can tell by the developed crest on the back of the skull. A nice little carnivore skull--with a nice set of canines!-- that are getting very hard to find!
Please note that this species is rated Least Concern by the IUCN and is not CITES listed. This animal was not taken specifically for its skull, but a by product of a deceased animal.  Meaning that this skull is perfectly legal to own and sell within the US. However, I will only ship within the United States, I will not ship internationally.  I am sorry.
