    Description

A real bone skull of a FEMALE TANTALUS MONKEY (Chlorocebus tantalus).  The skull was beetle cleaned and whitened with a strong peroxide.  The skull is complete with mandible, although I have not glued this to the cranium.  The skull measures about 3.5 inches long and is a younger animal.  There is no damage, it has complete dentition, but some of the teeth (like her canines) are in the process of emerging or have not emerged yet--as would be typical for an individual of her age. However, the overall flawless quality of the skull makes it a GREAT example of the species. Please note there may be other flaws that I do not see/notice as this was once a living thing and living things rarely show perfection in death.  That being said, this is a great specimen. It is sturdy and could be a good hands-on model for teaching.  This is not a species I have seen often available for sale. Most of the primates available are South African vervets--this species is a co-genetor--its Central African cousin.  If you happen to have a vervet--it makes for fascinating comparisons of closely related species.  This species is the rarer of the two--and would make a great specimen for the collection. It really is a lovely skull. Don't let it pass you by!
Please note:  READ THIS CAREFULLY!!! This species is not listed as an endangered species by the IUCN and it is not a native species to the United States, making it perfectly legal to own and sell.  It is however a CITES II species, as all primates are, and as such I will ONLY ship within the United States!  I am sorry I cannot and will absolutely not Ship Internationally. Furthermore, this animal was not taken specifically for its skull but is a by-product of a deceased individual.
