A really really big tomcat. This fellow stretched eight feet nine inches green on my biggest wolf board which happens to be eight feet in length. He was so large we had to make a 16 inch extensio in order to stretch out and tack up the tail and then expand the stretcher by another 6 inches in width to accomodate hi s extreme width which was quite a lot more than the biggest wolf that has everbeen put up on that board. He was taken in mid January and is absolutely gorgeous and fully prime. Has a moderate soft brown coat with lots of white hilites on the belly side. Has feet and claws attached, lips split and ears are fully turned. No hair slip ; the leather is perfectly perfect. He is now 88 inches from tip of nose to tip of tail and 58 inches from tip of nose to base of tail, however because of the way his face is crunched up I think we could easily add another 1 1/2 - 2 inched to those measurements. If you are not a taxidermist, one thing you should be made aware of is; In the tanning process all animals will lose 10 - 15 percent of their original net volume ( size). However, when rehydrated, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this cat will stretch well over eight feet and possibly eight foot six, he weighed in at 158 1/2 and in my opinion which oftentimes doesn't amount to much I would put him as 1 in 200, all things considered - size, , fur quality, color condition of the leather which is flawless etc. A hard one to better.
