Description
On display are ten “Lessons in Taxidermy” booklets by Prof. J. W. Elwood and published by the Northwestern School of Taxidermy in Omaha, Nebraska. I cannot find acopyright date on any of the booklets. The description on the front of the booklets describes them as” A comprehensive treatise on collecting and preserving all subjects of natural history.” These booklets are a great read on how taxidermy was done back in the early days. Each book contains ten pages. They are in good condition with no ripped or torn inside pages. The front cover of Book 1 has a 1” hole in the center of the cover that looks like Book 5 was stuck to the surface and was removed taking some of the surface away from the front cover and remained attached to the back of Book 5. Book 9 and the Lessons In Taxidermy booklet have some staining on the cover and inside pages that appears to be some light water damage. All have just a little bit of brown fading on the page edges.
All of the staples are intact and all pages are attached to the spine. Also comes with the original mailing envelope. The booklets are broken down as follows:
·
Book 1 – Lessons 1 to 5
·
Book 2 – Lessons 6 to 10
·
